Port St. Lucie Library Announces 2018 Book Selections

The Thursday Afternoon Book Discussion Group at the Port St. Lucie Branch Library has released its novels for 2018. The group’s meetings are scheduled for the first Thursday of each month at 3 p.m. and are open to everyone.




Selections for 2018 include:

  • Jan. 4  – “Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” by Mark Haddon
  • Feb. 1 – “Station Eleven” by Emily St. John Mandel
  • March 1 – “Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein
  • April 5 – “Loving Frank” by Nancy Horan
  • May 3 – “Lovers at the Chameleon Club” by Francine Prose
  • June 7 – “Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter” by Tom Franklin
  • July 5 – “Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend” by Katarina Bivald
  • Aug. 2 – “The Middlesteins” by Jami Attenberg
  • Sept. 6 – “A Man called Ove” by Fredrik Backman
  • Oct. 4 – “The Language of Flowers” by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
  • Nov. 1 – “The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown
  • Dec. 6 – “Hillbilly Elegy” by J.D. Vance

A limited number of library copies of each selection are available for checkout on a first-come, first-served basis. All selections are in print and most are available in paperback. Many are also available as e-book purchases.
