A Celebration of the Sun, Sea, Sky and Earth

Our physical body does not require "pain for gain" exercises which encourage our fright or flight response and compress the muscles, tighten tendons, stiffen joints and acidify the blood and tissues with excess lactic acid, carbon dioxide and other metabolic waste. After age 30 this type of exercises gradually becomes more harmful.

Category: Concert / Live Music
Summer Crush Winery announces four great Trop Rock acts for the 4th ANNUAL MUSIC ON THE VINE (MOTV) Trop Rock Music Fest, Saturday November 18th 2017 from 11:am-5pm. The day is a celebration of Trop Rock music honoring Jimmy Buffett’s move to Key West from Nashville, and the beginning of a unique Florida music genre that celebrates all things sand, sail, sun, surf, and salt. This year Radio Trop Rock will be covering the event! www.RadioTropRock.com
If you are not familiar with the term; Trop Rock is a fairly recent genre of music that is growing in popularity and incorporates elements and influences of rock and roll, reggae, country, Caribbean, Calypso and zydeco music, with themes and compositions inspired by a laid back water inspired lifestyle. Trop Rock Festivals are popping up all over the country with some of the biggest being Music on The Bay (MOTB) in Tampa and the Meeting of the Minds (MOTM) in the Keys. “Now we have one right here on the Treasure Coast known as Music on the Vine (MOTV)”, says Summer Crush owner Gary Roberts.
Four years of MOTV calls for four great bands! First up at 11am to get the party started is Merritt Island’s own: Mango Brothers Band! Founding brothers Tom & Eddie Coyle’s Mangos bring their special laid back and fun vibe they call Coral Reefer Rock to the day. These self-proclaimed Saltwater Troubadours have been sharing their Twist of Lime tunes for years in Tiki Bars from South Carolina to the Florida Keys. Always bringing their suitcase of toys for audience participation, so you can get in the spirit with a shaker or a Lei!
Next up at 12:30 pm is new and exciting Trop Rock band called The Cabana Dogs, founded by fun worshippers Rich McGuire and Jimi C. Hailing from Sarasota, the Dogs are a fun four some with a cache of Trop Rockin country and rock tunes, as well as some sun & fun originals to keep the salty spirit moving. You might even end up in their new “Summertime” video. Don’t miss, this, their first East Coast show!
At 2 pm we are proud to have Trop Rock superstar; Mr. Donny Brewer, all the way from Texas! Donny is a multi instrumental solo phenomenon who regularly travels the US from Washington State to the Florida Keys and everywhere in between spreading his original Trop Rock tunes from his perennially popular albums; “Live Like Buffett”, “Zimsula”, and “Winnebago Tapes”. Donny is an in-demand fan favorite at Trop Rock Music Festivals, Cruises, and Song Writer Events. He was recently a TRIPLE award winner at the 2016 Trop Rock Music Awards, taking home the Horizon Award, the prestigious Male Vocalist of the Year Award, as well as the Trop Rock Song of the Year Award for “Palapa Joe”! Don’t miss this rare appearance of this Trop Rock legend right here in the Vineyard!
To close out the day, at 3:30pm, our good friends from Melbourne, Florida; the Highway 1 Band bring their fun and entertaining show full of salty covers and sand inspired originals to the party. Highway 1, the 2014 Florida Band of the Year award winners, play sun inspired gigs all over Florida and the Caribbean. They will be sure to keep your Trop Rock rockin til the days end,
For great food, Polito Catering and Vickie’s Seafood will be serving their delicious American and locally inspired cuisine and spotlighting seafood favorites. Food is not included in the ticket price. Summer Crush will add to the spirit with popular beverage specials like; Wine Slushees, our signature Summer Crush, Sangria, and Wine based cocktails (like Margarita, Rum Punch, Bloody Mary, Sea Breeze & more) as well as the ever popular Landshark and other Florida and Caribbean beers, in addition to all their regular beverage offerings.
As with all our events: No off premise coolers, food , or beverages of any kind, including water is allowed. We will have everything you need, including free ice and water. Also, a No Tailgating policy is strictly enforced.
There are several other fun things to do besides listening to great music all day, like a wine tastings in the winery tasting room and browsing the unique gift shop, and games like; 9 hole disc golf course through the vineyard, giant lawn chess, giant 4 in a row, lawn shuffleboard, giant jenga, several corn hole games, hula hoops and more.
Early Advance General Admission Tickets are only $9 through October 6th, $11 through November 3rd, and $13.00 through November 17th. With a day-of admission of $15. So get yours now and save! Special group pricing for 10 or more tickets purchased at one time by one person of 10% off current ticket prices, are available by calling the winery at 772 460 0500. Sorry no day-of discounts.
Like last year, this is a Trop Rock Party with a Purpose, with $2 of each ticket going to the TRIDENT HOUSE FOR NAVY SEALS, a tranquil waterfront residence located directly along the beautiful Indian River in Sebastian, Florida. The lovely home serves as a critical and complimentary respite for the families of U.S. Navy SEALs and all Special Operations Forces who need a break from the longest war in the history of our country. .
All our concerts are rain or shine in our large covered pavilion with roll down vinyl sides. If there is a dangerous thunderstorm the show may be delayed and resumed when the weather passes, but not cancelled.
For those who will be coming from out of town, our Host Hotel is the Holiday Inn Express West in Fort Pierce, conveniently located between I-95 and Florida Turnpike exits in Ft Pierce at 7151 Okeechobee Rd, Fort Pierce, FL 34945. Molly Hatchet

Molly Hatchet Martin County
Date: Saturday November 18, 2017
Time: 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Location: Downtown Jensen Beach
Category: Concert / Live Music
In the early 1970s, a new form of music was emerging in the South. A mixture of blues, country, gospel and the English invasion of rock and roll that later was to be coined the phrase “Southern Rock.” The music was filled with style and emotion and with bands in the forefront such as the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and a band from Jacksonville, Florida called Molly Hatchet. Named after a famous 17th-century axe murderess “hatchet molly” who would behead her lovers with the hand tool Lizzy Borden made famous.
So as we enter the next 40 years of music, Molly Hatchet’s tradition keeps developing the common bond of southern rockers and keeps our southern-style of music alive and well. Rest assured, Molly Hatchet is a band, that after 40 years, is always workin’ hard, playin’ tough, livin’ fast, and still Flirtin’ with Disaster!!

Family Meals' Thanksgiving Outreach 2017.

We need lots of volunteers to help us deliver to over 2,000 local families. Our Thanksgiving menu includes: a frozen Turkey, fresh carrots, fresh potatoes, canned vegetables, gravy, rolls and boxed desserts. These meal bags will be delivered directly to families' homes. We do not require families to sign vouchers, wait in line or carry a food box. We ask them to enjoy a family meal in their homes, using their recipes. We always include table-talk questions to get the table conversation started. We also include mealtime prayers for the families to share.

Dogs and Cats Forever in Fort Pierce is donating pet food to families this year! The entire family will be fed. http://dogsandcatsforever.com/, 4600 Selvitz Rd, Fort Pierce, (772) 489-5454

As always, we need lots of help! Volunteer opportunities are available on Friday, November 17th at 1:00pm setting up the room, counting potatoes, and unloading the food trucks. AND on Saturday, November 18th starting at 7:30 am. We need packers and lots of help in many ways! We deliver, sort and pack out of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Pierce. http://trinitychurch4u.com/

Due to safety concerns and space limitations, all volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. All volunteers must sign up up before the event. https://www.volunteersignup.org/8XCM7

Volunteering as a driver takes a total of 3-5 hours of your time - about an hour on November 16 or 17 calling families to let them know their delivery time and about 3-4 hours on Saturday morning the 18th picking up and delivering to families. Please contact FamilyMealsDrivers@gmail.com ASAP to sign up as a driver.

We'll hike through the wooded trail along the tributaries of the St. Lucie River and around the pond taking in the antics of our feathered, scaly, slimy and possibly furry neighbors as well as the beauty of seasonal wildflowers.

Waterside Blues

Waterside Blues Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society
Date: Sunday November 19, 2017
Time: 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: Downtown Fort Pierce Waterfront
Address: 101 Melody Lane
Category: Concert / Live Music
Every year, Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society hosts a free blues concert on the waterfront at Melody Lane in beautiful downtown Fort Pierce as a way of showing our gratitude to the community which supports our efforts and enjoys our music all throughout the rest of the year.

We bring a phenomenally talented group or musician down, set up all the equipment, and do our best to please Mother Nature, who always smiles down on our efforts to share great music and gratitude with the community.

Sunday, November 19th, the stage will be up; the equipment will be hauled out, and the musicians will be ready to share an afternoon of professional music that won’t cost you a single penny.

All we ask of you is that you bring your own lawn chairs and leave the bottles and cans at home. We’ll have delicious food and refreshing beverages available throughout the afternoon of music we lovingly refer to as Waterside Blues, which will begin at 1 p.m. and go until 5 p.m. We’ll start off with a little bit of jazz, then we’ll take a left turn and bring you a little blues. And this year, we have a really special musical treat with Dave Scott and the Reckless Shots lighting up the stage starting at 3 p.m. with high-caliber blues-rock and rhythm and blues that will make it impossible for you to stay in your seats. You’ll remember Dave Scott because of his searing guitar and vocals during his tenure with the late, great David Shelley & Bluestone, who packed the house for Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues every time they played
.
It’s an afternoon of music, fun, and friendship, and it’s one way we can thank you for supporting our efforts throughout the rest of the year. Every time you come to a Tuesday evening Jazz Jam at the Sunrise Black Box or spend a Wednesday night at the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens and listen to great music at a great price, you help us provide thousands of dollars in scholarships for talented young musicians who are destined to be the stars of tomorrow. And we’re grateful for that.

If you’d like to learn more about Fort Pierce Jazz and Blues Society, or if you’d like to share the gift of membership with someone to show your own gratitude during this season of thanks, please visit us at www.jazzsociety.org, or call us today at 772-460-JAZZ.
