On Saturday, Jan. 14, Friends in Pink hosted an incredible fundraiser at The Motor Coach Resort in Port St. Lucie. This event raised over $59,000!!!

The idea behind this fabulous night started with a golf cart from Wildar Golf Carts and Trailers in Ft Pierce, which was raffled off in October 2022 for Breast Cancer Awareness Month/ Friends in Pink. The winners of this golf cart were Steve and Karen Beth Hairfield.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of this couple, an idea of a grand fundraiser was born!

There were over 300 guests who attended a fabulous night out of dancing and donating held at the Motor Coach Resort Club House.

The entertainment was the main attraction with the popular 14-piece Inside Out Band, who had the crowd dancing from their first song.

Tasty Hors D'oeurves were provided by Tutto Fresco.

A live auction by Hawk Levy, Bering Auctions/ St. Lucie Jewelry and Coin had the crowd feeling generous, which helped the main financial contributions toward the total donations raised. And yes, another hot red shiny golf cart from Wildar was the prize to win!

Thanks to the generosity of other local small businesses in our great community, the silent auction also was a huge success bringing in a significant amount of dollars to the donation pot.

Special mentions and appreciation to Costa D'este, Kyle G's, MLM Food Group/ Boat House Restaurant/ Hudsons on the River, St. Lucie Mets, Total Wine and More, Oasis Pavers, Paradise Home and Patio, Jewelry by Design, Black Sheep Salon, Sunrise Surf Shop, Lily Pads Pressure Cleaning, Pie Hole Wood Pizza and Tutto Fresco and many others!

A beautiful quilt was hand sewn by Bonnie Powell a resident at the Motor Coach Park drew great donations from the Park members who are planning to display it at the Club House.

Friends in Pink is a local non-profit organization that raises money to help families with financial hardships pay for medical treatments and health insurance while undergoing treatments for breast cancer. Recipients must live in Martin, St Lucie, or Indian River counties
