New Horizons welcomes Osiel Luviano to Board of Directors

Osiel Luviano, the principal at Luviano Roofing Company in Okeechobee, Florida has joined the Board of Directors of New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee. Mr. Luviano has close ties to the mission of the nonprofit agency, which provides 14,000 children and adults annually with mental health and addiction recovery services.

Mr. Luviano brings a generous heart for his community to the 12-member board. “I chose New Horizons because they are a necessary resource in my hometown of Okeechobee. I want to help them as they make it healthier for those who need these services.” Luviano said.

An Okeechobee High School graduate, Mr. Luviano started his roofing business after obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Management from the University of North Florida in 2006. The business currently employs 10 people and serves Okeechobee, Martin, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Glades and the surrounding region.

Mr. Luviano and his wife Manuela, along with their two daughters, made Okeechobee their home because, “we missed the small town feeling while in Tampa and Jacksonville. We knew we wanted our girls to grow up in a place where the roots run deep, like our family’s.” he said.

Since starting his business Mr. Luviano has donated more than five roofs to local families in need and distributes college scholarships annually for seniors graduating from Okeechobee High School .

“We’re delighted to have Osiel join our board,” said Board Chair Pat Austin. “His heart for community care is aligned with our mission and vision. He will be an outstanding addition to our team.”

New Horizons has nine offices across four counties – one in Okeechobee -- and serves more than 14,000 children, regardless of their ability to pay for treatment.  In fact, almost 60% of New Horizons clients have no source of income or insurance, yet no one is turned away due to lack of financial resources. In addition to inpatient and outpatient services, the agency also has a mobile crisis response team that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
