Child Advocacy Center Chili Cook Off

GUARDIANS FOR NEW FUTURES, a Port St. Lucie based 501c3 non-profit organization, Baron Real Estate Co., and local vendors/partners are teaming up to help maltreated and abused children on the Treasure Coast. Baron Real Estate will host a first annual Chili Cook Off Fundraising event with all proceeds going towards the new GFNF4Kids Child Advocacy Center located in St. Lucie West and will serve abused and neglected children from St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee counties.

The Chili Cook Off Fundraiser will be held on Sunday, March 14th from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Baron Real Estate Campus located at 8555 Commerce Centre Drive, Port St. Lucie.

This will be a fun community event for the entire family and will include 30 different Chili recipes to sample, as well as raffles, live music, game booths, dessert tables, a chili eating contest and more. The event is open to the public and there will be a $10 donation entry fee per person for ages 11 and up, children under the age of 10 are free. Tickets are available for purchase at the event as well as online beforehand at www.eventbrite.com under Baron Chili Cook Off.

If you are a local business interested in entering the chili competition, please contact Anna Bach at 772-257-1691 for details.

The GFNF4Kids Child Advocacy Center provides all needed resources for a maltreated child at a single location - from the initial forensic interview, physical exam, mental health resources, and more. Currently, in the 19th Judicial Circuit, a child is required to go to multiple locations to tell and retell the story of their abuse and receive needed resources, which creates more trauma for the child. With a CAC, a child only needs to tell their story one time and will receive all the needed resources in one location to begin their healing process.

The 19th Judicial Circuit is one of three Judicial Circuits in Florida without an advocacy center, and GFNF4kids is committed to change that for the Treasure Coast and surrounding  areas.

Please visit GFNF4kids website for more information at www.gfnf4kids.org
