Block Party Toy Drive in its 3rd Year!
LeGit Cuts Barbershop in downtown Fort Pierce, along with Sailfish Brewery and Christa Stone from Fresh Country Radio, will host the 3rd Annual Toy Drive Block Party on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. “We’re excited to be in our third year with the Toy Drive. We have a blast every year, we learn more and more and we are looking forward to watching the event grow. These kids deserve all we can give and more, It’s a lot of fun” said Jose Ruiz, LeGit Cuts owner/operator and block party Founder.
A section of 2nd Street north of Avenue A in downtown Fort Pierce is included in the block party directly in front of LeGit Cuts Barbershop. Last year, the toy drive was able to help more than 1,000 local children. With admission to the event an unwrapped toy, Ruiz is confident they will double their impact this year. “We’ve got face painting, crafts and kid’s activities’, awesome vendors, great food from Taco Dive, Moonshiner’s and Carter’s Grocery and of course, everybody’s favorite The Cake Lady.” shared Ruiz. “We’re making this an annual party for our whole community to get in the spirit and help shape young lives.” he added. Sponsorships have come in from Everglades Farm Equipment, Dunn Tractor Services and Last Dragon Tattoo and media sponsors are sharing up to date event details through All Things Treasure Coast and Hometown News.
The toy drive will benefit area non-profit organizations including Suncoast Mental Health Center, Mustard Seed Ministries and CASTLE. “Our case management team has identified children in the most need in our community. These toys and funds are truly helping making our kid’s holidays bright. We are so grateful to LeGit and the BPTD Friends for all they do to make the season truly bright.” said Tricia Cote, Administrator of Case Management at Suncoast Mental Health Center.
“We are very thankful that LeGit, Sailfish Brewery, and Christa Stone have included the children of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County that Suncoast Mental Health Center serves. The annual toy drive truly makes a difference in the lives of so many children that would have otherwise gone without”. Said CEO Debra Engle.
