Martin County honors military veterans with free rides
To honor the dedicated men and women who currently serve or have served our country, Martin County is offering free fixed route and commuter bus service on Martin County's Transit Service (MARTY) to active duty military and veterans on Friday, November 10. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, all active duty military and military veterans with proper ID can enjoy a ride on MARTY free for the day. Acceptable forms of military ID include:
- Active Duty ID card
- Guard/Reserve Military ID Card
- Retiree Military ID Card
- Former Military
- Military Dependent ID Card
- Veterans ID Card
MARTY provides fixed route service to the US 1 Corridor, Indiantown and Stuart. In addition, a commuter route runs from the Robert Morgade Library to the Palm Beach Gardens Mall. All buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts and bike racks.
In addition to the MARTY schedules conveniently located at www.martin.fl.us/martin-county-services/bus-schedule-information, there is now an option to use MyRide for real-time route planning and bus information. MyRide monitors the real-time location of MARTY buses in operation using GPS technology and is accessible from a desktop computer or mobile device.
