Plein air painting captivates people of all ages and from May 26-July 15, En Plein Air will feature the work of local artists. Patrons will recognize many of the historic buildings and landmarks depicted in their work in a variety of media. Many of the paintings are available for purchase, with sales benefiting the Museum.

A Patchwork History, which will hang from June 9-July 15, will show how quilts have changed from traditional designs and functional use to experimental designs and contemporary art, inspiring a new generation of fiber artists and artisans to work in a surprising variety of media. Ceramic tile "quilts" from two area elementary schools will be just one example of this emerging art form.

There will be turn-of-the-century quilts from Elliott and House of Refuge collections. Visitors will be invited to create a square for the Paper Quilt project and be part of the exhibit.

The exhibitions share an opening reception on Thursday, June 15 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Munchies and cash bar will be available.
