After several wildly successful seasons, The Arts Council of Martin County will bring back its acclaimed Sunset Concerts for the 2018-19 Season expanding the season to 9 months.

Volunteer artistic director Dr. Marie Jureit-Beamish has donated her time and talent to oversee the program, which returned on October 9 and continues on the second Tuesday of every month through June in the beautiful galleries of the Court House Cultural Center.

The Marie and J. Calvin Jureit Foundation provided philanthropic support for this unique program that allows the Arts Council to integrate the musical and the visual arts together in one space.

You’ll want to attend each of the 5:30 p.m. performances. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. The schedule is as follows:

November 13: The 2018 Contestants of the mARTies Awards Experience the extraordinary talent of this year’s mARTies Awards musicians.

December 11: Blessings, Bernstein, and the Beatles! Pianist Marie Jureit-Beamish presents a concert highlighting spirited and uplifting music celebrating Leonard Bernstein and The Beatles.

January 8: Jureit Musicales: Pianist Lindsay Garritson” Internationally recognized pianist Lindsay Garritson of Stuart, has soloed with orchestras around the world.

February 12: Special Valentines Concert: The Treasure Coast Flute Choir, Lindsay and Al Hager, Directors. Flutes of all sizes and shapes perform a variety of music.

March 12: Soprano Lorrianna Colozzo Sings Songs of Joy and Praise.

April 9: Suzuki Lighthouse Strings directed by Cynthia Hinkelman. Many young string players share the joy of music in the spirit of founder Dr. Shinichi Suzuki.

May 14: Young Artists of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony. Tom Servinsky, Director. Highlighting some of the Treasure Coast’s most accomplished youthful instrumentalists performing solos and ensembles.

June 11: Stuart School of Music, Cindy Kessler. Students from the school perform on many instruments.

The Arts Council of Martin County is a 501(c)3 non-profit membership organization that supports the arts and artists. Revenues from events benefit both the artists and the Arts Council to support the on-going programs of the Council including arts information activities, arts education programs for youth and support for artists and arts organizations.
