The event will raise funds for scholarships that are awarded annually to qualified individuals who have battled back from substance abuse and are seeking to complete their educational goals. The event will include a breakfast, awards lunch, and opportunities to bid on a number of raffle items.

“Our firm belief is that education coupled with a strong commitment to recovery is the most effective pathway to success and long term sobriety”, said Erica Garwood, President of the Foundation. “So many young men and women have had their lives and educational goals derailed or disrupted as a result of their substance use disorder. The problem is epidemic. We look for opportunities to help these individuals regain their footing and assist them in their efforts to embrace a productive and sober existence.”

Over the past two years the Mark Garwood SHARE Foundation has awarded over $50,000 in financial aid to 9 individuals. All of the recipients are now successfully enrolled in college courses and are steadily working toward completion of their degrees.

“Shoot For The Moon” supports the charitable legacy initiated by John and Erica Garwood after losing their 24 year old son, Mark, to the effects of substance abuse in May, 2014. The Mark Garwood SHARE Foundation underwrites a number of charitable projects throughout the region. To learn more about the Foundation visit MarkGarwoodSHAREFoundation.org.

Registration information and sponsorship opportunities for “Shoot For The Moon” are available now at Shootingforthemoon.org, or call 772-225-3366 for more information.

From March 17th-April 2nd the Humane Society of St. Lucie County will be reducing their normal adoption fees to $10 a Cat and $30 a Dog 1 year or older.
Each adoption fee includes your pet’s spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. The Humane Society of St. Lucie currently has over 200 cats and dogs ready to be adopted. If you cannot commit to a forever friend, consider becoming a foster parent. The Humane Society will provide all basic necessities while you provide the loving home until they find theirs forever.
Each year 14 million people in this country will add a pet to their family. Unfortunately, only 7 million will adopt from a shelter or rescue. We have the ability to Save Them All, but we must all think adoption first.

The Wolf and the Witch have been frolicking from fairy tale to fairy tale wreaking havoc… Hear the personal accounts of what happened, told in testimonies and flashback sequences, from
characters such as Snow White, Dorothy, Sleeping Beauty, the Three Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and many others, as each trial unfolds. The audience is the jury, so each trial has two endings depending on the verdict!
**The formation of our Junior Troupe came about as a result of the overwhelming success of our summer program, Camp Bravo, in addition to the junior actors who have joined our ranks over the past several seasons. It is a way of giving our younger actors an opportunity to participate in theater throughout the year. Not every mainstage production has a role that is either written for or can be performed by a junior actor. The hope is that the Troupe will not only fulfill those needs, but also continue to educate throughout the year.**

Twenty years ago, Pastor Paul’s church was a modest storefront. Now it houses thousands, with a coffee shop in the lobby and a baptismal font as big as a swimming pool. But on the day they celebrate the end of their indebtedness, Pastor Paul is about to share some news his congregation isn’t used to hearing. It is a sermon that will shake the foundation of his congregation’s beliefs. How could one’s convictions change overnight? From one of America’s new, exciting playwrights, comes this mesmerizing play about faith and redemption and its power to unite or divide.

Location: Humane Society of St. Lucie County
Price: All Cats $10/ All Dogs 1 year or Older $30
Category: Community
The ball has been tipped! And let’s be honest all of our brackets have been busted for this year’s NCAA Basketball Tournament. The good news is March Madness does not have to end.
For more information on our adoptable pets and programs please call 772-801-8564, or visit www.hsslc.org.
