The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast, Covid 19

Article by Tammy Calabria

Keeping the Children's Museum's mission moving and kids' minds and fine motor skills working!

The Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast has joined with 25 United, Boys and Girls Club of Martin and St.Lucie and House of Hope to bring fun activity kits to kids in need. The activity kits will accompany as many free meals as possible! The kits will also include valuable resources and information from the 211 Helpline and the Telehealth services provided by Tykes and Teens.

"It is our mission to keep kids' minds engaged with fun activities that utilize fine motor and problem-solving techniques. We would love to send every child home with an activity, but we need help from corporate sponsors!" said Tammy Calabria, executive director.

We need the community's help with either corporate donations of children's activities or monetary donations to support the mission. The Museum, in partnership with 25 United, has set up a collection and assembly site at the Martin County Fairgrounds. The goal is to encourage corporations like Lowe's and Home Depot to donate their

Kids Club activity kits. The Elliott Museum, Arts Council of Martin County,  Home Depot in Jensen beach, and Lowe's in Stuart have already cleaned their store inventory to help. If a company does not have a mass supply of activity kits available, monetary donations can also be received at www.childrensmuseumtc.org.

25 United unites volunteers and professionals from all walks of life who are passionate, hard-working, and devoted to rebuilding communities, replenishing supplies, and restoring a way of life in the aftermath of devastation. The team, led by Brie Washburn, is leading the charge to keep families fed.

This mission is being made possible by collaborations, organizations, and businesses uniting to inspire young minds.
