St. Lucie County Hosts Liberian Delegation
State Rep. Delores Hogan Johnson and St. Lucie County Commissioners as well as representatives from St. Lucie Public Schools and Indian River State College will host officials from the Republic of Liberia on Friday, Oct. 25.
The Grand Bassa County Association in the Americas, Inc. (a local non-profit organization) has created annual retreats for delegates from the Republic of Liberia for the past 12 years. The goal of this tour is for St. Lucie County leaders to share best management practices in local government with representatives from the Republic of Liberia. Officials will tour state-of-the-art facilities at Indian River State College, St. Lucie County Solid Waste and Recycling Facility and barrier island preserves to better understand natural mosquito control management and coastal restoration.
Republic of Liberia delegates scheduled to attend the tour include: Hon. Matthew F. Joe, Electoral District #3 House of Representatives, Republic of Liberia; Hon. Thomas Goshua, Electoral District #5 House of Representatives, Republic of Liberia; Dr. Samuel Monwell, President of Grand Bassa County Community College and Hon. Moses Haynes, City Mayor, Buchanan City Corporation.
St. Lucie County Commissioners are schedule to present members of the Grand Bassa County Association in the Americas with a proclamation at its regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9 a.m. in the Commissioner Chambers of the St. Lucie County Administration Complex, 2300 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce.Liberian
