Southern Eagle Distributing will be joining dozens of other organizations at the 2017 SLC Safety Festival. The event will be held on Saturday, April 29th at First Data Field (home of the Mets) from 9am to 2pm.
In addition to safety related information, Southern Eagle will provide an opportunity for attendees to test Fatal Vision® Impairment Simulation Goggles. The goggles will allow people to experience with a sober mind what it's like to be under the influence of alcohol. Participants experience how alcohol impairs a person's balance, vision, reaction time, and judgment. Simple activities with the Fatal Vision® Goggles such as walking a line, one-leg stand, reaching out to grab a set of car keys, or tossing a ball become important aha moments as the participant realizes how susceptible they are to potentially dangerous consequences of impairment.
The SLC Safety Festival was created to showcase First Responders and other safety related agencies. Last year over 10,000 people attended. This year 15,000+ are expected for the community wide event.
It will include live K-9, SWAT Team, Jaws of Life, Fire Burn and Air Evacuation demonstrations by our First Responders. There will be touch-a-truck with fire trucks, bulldozers, brush trucks, Air Rescue, displays of every kind, robots, vendors, food trucks and kids zone with free bounce houses, games and more.
Participants include: SLC Sheriff, PSL Police, SLC Fire District, SL Public Schools, Fish and Wildlife, Division of Forestry, Highway Patrol, Southern Eagle Distributing, Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, Emergency Management, Department of Health, US Coast Guard, Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Red Cross, Blood One, Toyota Center of Stuart, Seacoast Bank, Public Safety, Radiological Information, National Hurricane Center, Marine Safety, Ever Bridge (Reverse 911), Safer St. Lucie, Nuclear Power Plant Alert, Zika-Mosquito Safety, 911, Lifeguards, Hurricane Preparedness, Animal Control, Nuclear Power Plant, Tobacco Free Florida, Bike Helmet Safety, SL Kids Safety Coalition, Martin Health and more.
