JOHN CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL RECOGNIZES AP CAPSTONE DIPLOMA RECIPIENTS AND SCHOLARS

John Carroll High School recognized its recent graduates who were recipients of the prestigious AP Capstone diploma at an awards ceremony on Aug. 15.

John Carroll is the only school in the area that offers the AP Capstone program, which is a College Board program that equips students with the independent research, collaborative teamwork and communication skills that are increasingly valued by colleges.

Recent graduates Valedictorian Dylan Breslaw, Salutatorian Thomas Jochem, Rebecca Ageeb, Rebecca Noelke, Theresa Villa and Amanda Ross were recognized for earning the AP Capstone diploma.

The AP Capstone program is comprised of two AP courses — AP Seminar and AP Research— and is designed to complement and enhance the discipline-specific study in other AP courses. In order to receive the AP Capstone diploma from the College Board, students must earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research and four additional AP exams

“We are continuously proud of our AP students’ diligence and dedication to the rigorous program,” said Corey Heroux, John Carroll High School principal. “We wish them all the best in their next chapters in college.”

John Carroll proudly had six AP Capstone graduates, 20 AP Scholars, eight AP Scholars with Distinction, four AP Scholars with Honors and three National AP Scholars for the 2018-19 school year.
