Open Enrollment for VPK began Jan. 1, 2020
Open Enrollment for the 2020-2021 Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Program is now underway through the Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County’s online enrollment. The FREE program is open to children residing in Florida who will be four years of age on or before September 1, 2020.
(If your child’s fourth birthday falls Feb. 2 through Sept. 1 in a calendar year, you can postpone enrolling your child in VPK that year and wait until the following year when he or she is 5.)
This free program helps insure ALL children are intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically ready to enter kindergarten! Parents can select from one of two programs: a school year program offering up to 540 hours of free VPK, or the summer program, which offers 300 hours of classes.
Children are entitled to participate at no charge for one of the VPK program options, by applying online at the Early Learning Coalition website, www.elcslc.org or through the state portal at https://familyservices.floridaearlylearning.com. To help answer questions or concerns about Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), team members from the Early Learning Coalition are available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm by calling 772-595-6363. Families who need computer access for enrollment may complete their enrollment through the computer portals at the office of the Early Learning Coalition at 5000 Dunn Road, in Fort Pierce.
Once parents receive their certificate, it must be turned in to the provider of their choice. Parents may contact the coalition office for a list of providers, which include private and public pre-kindergarten programs, family childcare center

The Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County is a multi-service agency, dedicated to helping children develop the skills that they need to be successful in school and life, through education and outreach. We focus on high quality school readiness opportunities for all children and their families, because we understand each child's future educational success is determined in the first years of their lives, and that, as their child's first and most important teacher, parents play a critical role.
