City of Port St. Lucie Updates September 12th

As of noon Tuesday, the City of Port St. Lucie has these important updates:


  • All City streets are open and all traffic signals are operational. 
  • According to Florida Power and Light, 54,540 customers in St. Lucie County are without power as of noon today.
  • The City of Port St. Lucie received between 8 to 9 inches of rain during Hurricane Irma. However, there is no longer any street flooding in the City.
  • The Port St. Lucie City Council held its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday evening, and approved extending the City’s Emergency Declaration until September 20, 2017. The City Council rescheduled its budget hearings for Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. and Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
  • The Port St. Lucie Building Department is open today for all its normal operations.
  • Waste Pro will resume regularly scheduled household garbage and recycling pickup starting Tuesday, September 12.
    • Please be patient as trash volumes will be heavier due to Hurricane Irma.
    • Residents needing to contact Waste Pro should call 595-9390.
  • Port St. Lucie Utility Systems has established emergency water supply depots to provide water to residents who do not have access to water at their homes due to power outages at the following locations:
    • Please bring your own containers, as these depots are self-serve stations and open 24 hours.
      • Shell gas station at Tulip Blvd. /Darwin Blvd.
      • Parkway Elementary School at Selvitz Rd. /Manville Dr.
      • Publix at Prima Vista Crossings at U.S. 1 /Prima Vista Blvd.
      • Zapatas on U.S. 1 near Kitterman Rd.
  • The Port St. Lucie Utility Systems Customer Service Office at City Hall is open and back to regular business hours; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Residents can use the City’s free app, AccessPSL, found at Android and Apple Store, to report debris in roads.
  • The Neighborhood Services Department will be keeping a list of anyone wishing to volunteer after the storm event.
  • Volunteers will be matched with the needs of the community to the extent resources are available.

  • The city has a webpage at where information for residents will be updated frequently. The City’s Facebook page, and the City’s Twitter page, also will have up-to-the-minute information.
  • The Port St. Lucie Civic Center recreation and café facilities open Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 6 a.m. The Civic Center fountain opened today, and will be opened daily until dusk.
