City of Port St. Lucie Irma Update Thursday 9:45

 Port St. Lucie is committed to ensuring the safety of citizens, and we’re asking residents to prepare with us.  The City’s emergency operations team continues to prepare for Hurricane Irma landfall and impact.  The City continues to work closely with St. Lucie County officials and community partners and will provide status updates as necessary.

 

The following list of cancellations and closures will be continually updated.

 

As of 10 a.m. Thursday, the City of Port St. Lucie has closed or cancelled the following:

 

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

Government Closures

Dates closed: Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8

Details: St. Lucie County government offices and facilities, include the Clerk of Courts, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Sheriff’s Office and Supervisor of Elections, will be closed.

 

County Library and Attractions

Dates closed: Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8

Details: This closure includes the skate park, Lawnwood Stadium, St. Lucie County libraries, preserves and attractions such as the Regional History Center, St. Lucie County Aquarium and the Oxbow Eco-Center.

 

Indian River State College

Dates closed: Thursday, Sept. 7 to Sunday, Sept. 10

Details: IRSC will remain open through the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 6.

 Once the region is clear of Hurricane Irma and campuses are safe for return, IRSC will re-open.  Stay tuned to www.irsc.edu, social media, WQCS 88.9FM for updates.

St. Lucie County Public Schools

Dates closed: Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8

Details: St. Lucie County Public Schools as well as John Carroll High School and St. Anastasia Catholic School, will be closed Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8. 

 

St. Lucie TPO

Torino Neighborhood Planning Meeting

Date: 9/6/2017

Location: IRSC’s Schreiber Building

Future Date: This meeting will be rescheduled in the upcoming weeks.

 

Transit
Date: 9/9/2017
Details: The Treasure Coast Connector fixed route service will run a regular service on Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8 – unless winds require that the vehicles to be taken off the road. With regard to demand/response, regular service has been canceled for Thursday and Friday and trips for dialysis will only be provided on those days and will be available for special needs transport as directed.
