Young Floridian Scholarship Program Winners

 

Fort Pierce, FL - The St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce Foundation congratulates the Young Floridian Scholarship Program Winners for the 2020-2021 academic year.

 

The Young Floridian Award was established in 1985 by General Development Corporation to recognize outstanding seniors for achievement and service to their school and community. Young Floridian awards honor one St. Lucie high school senior in 15 academic or extracurricular disciplines.

 

Winners were announced at the award ceremony on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Sunrise Theatre. Each winner received a $1,000 scholarship to the college or university of their choice and/or a two-year full scholarship to IRSC.

 

Jenny Nguyen from Treasure Coast High School was the winner of Academic Excellence. James Mikovsky from Port St. Lucie High School was the winner of Academies/Certifications/Manufacturing. Jakeria Owens from Fort Pierce Westwood Academy was the winner of Art. Casen Brugnone from John Carroll High School was the winner of Athletics. James Coriolan from Treasure Coast High School was the winner of Career & Technology. Justin Bennett from Port St. Lucie High School was the winner of Computer Science/Engineering & Architecture. Mason Kozac from Lincoln Park Academy was the winner of Drama. Miguel Palacios Maldonado from Fort Pierce Central High School was the winner of Foreign Language. Karolyne Vazquez from Treasure Coast High School was the winner of Human Services. Nick Siringo from John Carroll High School was the winner of Journalism & Communications. Caleb Schrader from St. Lucie West Centennial High School was the winner of Language Arts. Alex Alonzo from John Carroll High School was the winner of Mathematics. Esteban Roman from Port St. Lucie High School was the winner of Music. Harlem Lilley from Treasure Coast High School was the winner of Science. Geanpaul Ojeda from Treasure Coast High School was the winner of Social Studies.
