Jennifer Ferrari, well-known in both the business and nonprofit worlds, has joined SafeSpace as Director of Development.
Ferrari moved to West Palm Beach from her native New Jersey to attend college and has been a resident of the Treasure Coast for more than 20 years.
She has a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing and Management from Northwood University.
Dr. Teresa Albizu, CEO of SafeSpace, said of Ferrari, “During her interviews, it became evident that Jennifer not only holds a strong affinity to the challenges of domestic violence, but also displayed enthusiasm and initiative in identifying a myriad of funding opportunities in contributing to the growth of SafeSpace.”
During a 10-year tenure as executive director of the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce. Ferrari managed a membership base of over 500 businesses and non-profit organizations, working alongside government officials, community stakeholders and the Martin County Business Development Board.
Since leaving the Chamber, Ferrari has served in development and/or fundraising roles at Treasure Coast Hospice, Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, and Florida Community Health Centers Inc., where she established a philanthropy program.
Ferrari is currently the president of the Martin County LEADERship Alumni Association, an organization of more than 700 members which funds the Martin County Youth LEADERship program.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her parents, participating in Ascent Church, gardening, writing, and playing with her four-legged kitty, Rosie.
Of her new position as Director of Development at SafeSpace, Ferrari says ““It is my absolute calling and honor to raise critical funds for the victims of domestic violence on the Treasure Coast. SafeSpace truly provides a safe haven for families who arrive in crisis. The compassion that is shown towards our participants is just one of the many reasons why I was drawn to the position.”
