Indian River Community Makes the Holidays Bright for the Hibiscus Youth
The Indian River community definitely helped to make the holidays brighter this season for abused, abandoned and neglected youth served by the Hibiscus Children’s Center. The Hibiscus “Santa’s Elves” Program partnered closely with our generous community to collect and organize toys and gifts for teens living at the Hibiscus Village in Vero Beach. Hibiscus Children’s Center’s wonderful volunteers and guild members (aka Santa’s Elves) have been coordinating, wrapping gifts and ensuring teen’s wish lists are filled for many years! There is no doubt that the holiday spirit of giving and generosity was in the air as local businesses and individuals helped to provide memories and excitement for these teens who have experienced too much tragedy in their young lives. Our community, volunteers and staff brought joy and smiles to the youth’s faces on Christmas morning ... what a priceless gift!
Some of the generous holiday community partners this year included Carter’s Outlet, Casa de Alabanza, Central Florida East Coast Toy Drive, CVS Distribution Center, Dillard’s of Vero Beach, Element Gym, First Presbyterian Preschool, GFWC Treasure Coast Women, Hammock Lakes, Hair Shop for Men, Indian River County Health Dept. Employees, Indian River Estates, iThink Financial, Living Lord Lutheran, Olive Garden, Our Savior Lutheran, Parris Family Chiropractic,
Panera Bread, Pat Stelz’ Floating Happy Hour, RE/MAX Associated Realty, Rhythm & Soul, Riverside Family Dental, Rocking Horse Foundation, Rosewood Magnet School, Sebastian River High School IB program, Sebastian Woman’s Club, Team Provancher Real Estate, Team Success Enterprises, Toys for Tots, Vero Elks Lodge #1774, VNA of Stuart, and 7-Slot Freedom.
