The organizers of the Stuart Air Show promised that Salute to Stuart, the kickoff event for the 2022 Air Show, would be a night to remember – and judging from the delighted reactions of the sold-out crowd, they weren’t exaggerating!

Guests were able to enjoy a unique Top Gun-like experience, thanks to the generous cooperation of the Martin County Airport Administration which permitted the closing of Runway 16/34, creating an ambiance that was close to perfect.

The “Top Gun”-themed event, which took place at Witham Field, featured food and drinks from Bonner Mobile Catering, music from Burnt Biscuit and the piece de resistance, an appearance by a flight-suited Jerome LeBlanc, the renowned Tom Cruise actor and impersonator.

LeBlanc recruited guests and pilots to recreate the famous bar scene from the original Top Gun movie by singing "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" to long-time Stuart Air Show volunteer and aviation enthusiast Lauren Vinaya.

Add dancing and fabulous auctions to support the 2022 Stuart Air Show and you’ve got the blueprint for a fantastic evening.

Auction proceeds also benefited Honor Flight Southeast Florida and EAA Chapter 692, two local non-profits that align with the Stuart Air Show’s mission of Celebrating Aviation-Honoring its Past & Inspiring its Future.

Unique, upscale items up for bid included jet rides in an L39 Albatross and an S-211 Marchetti, and adventures to Africa and Costa Rica.

Static aircraft displays of P51 "Ain't Misbehaving" (courtesy of Shawn Engebretsen), an L39 Albatross, and two S-211 Marchetti from the Brazillian Airsports Team captivated the crowd.

The Stuart Air Show, which has been thrilling attendees for more than a quarter century, is the largest annual event on the Treasure Coast and will take place this year from November 11-13.
