EFMC Unrolls Coronavirus Crisis Fund
By Jackie Holfelder
Everyone is being impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis on many different levels.
Since all Martin County schools are closed for the foreseeable future, the Education Foundation of Martin County (EFMC) is seeking financial support from the community to help the Martin County School District (MCSD) provide resources students and teachers in need.
The non-profit has calculated that $75,000 will be needed to fulfill its “Ensure Education Continues” Coronavirus Crisis fundraising initiative. Contributions will be used for:
- Laptops for teachers in need so that they are able to continue providing instruction to Martin County’s 19,000 public school students
- Laptops for students in need
- School supplies, learning materials and books
Donations of any amount will help EFMC reach its goal, as well as allowing the non-profit to provide other educational materials, supplies and services for teachers and students as they are identified.
Education Foundation of Martin County is currently working remotely to ensure local students and teachers have what they need for learning to continue. If you have questions, email Lisa Rhodes at LRhodes@EducationFoundationMC.org.
Donations can be made by check mailed to EFMC at P.O. Box 291, Stuart, FL 34995, or via credit card using the form on the website at www.educationfoundationmc.org. Select a donation level from the dropdown menu or click "other" and insert your own amount.
On behalf of the students and teachers of Martin County's public schools, thank you for your consideration and support at this time of critical need. It will provide students with the necessary tools and education to continue on a path towards excellence.
