Agreement Between Yacht Club of Havana, Cuba and the Fort Pierce Yacht Club

At the 2019 Christmas dinner, Ft Pierce Yacht Club and the Hemingway International Yacht Club signed an Agreement of Friendship, the intent of which is to further relationships through boating activities. Commodore Escrich represented the Hemingway International Yacht Club, and he and his daughter and granddaughter were our guests for dinner and dancing. Hemingway International Yacht Club was founded 27 years ago with the mission to grow nautical tourism in Cuba under the continual leadership of Commodore Escrich. Their international presence has grown to 700 associate clubs, now including the Fort Pierce Yacht Club, from all over the world. Whereas: Diane Korbey, in her capacity as Commodore of the Fort Pierce Yacht Club of Fort Pierce, Florida, United States of America, and
Whereas: Mr. Jose Miguel Diaz Escrich, in his capacity as the Commodore of Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba,
Both parties, recognizing their respective responsibilities, have agreed to the following:
First: The Fort Pierce Yacht Club and the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba are committed to working together for the strengthening of their friendship and collaborative relations.
Second: The Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba and the Fort Pierce Yacht Club are committed to promoting activities that contribute to the enhancement of the relationship between worldwide boating communities.
Third: Both parties are committed to exchanging information about the nautical events each Club celebrates, and if possible, to jointly organize regattas and other nautical events.
Fourth: The Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba, as representative of important cruising and fishing associations, is committed to offer information and assistance in the voyages the members of the Fort Pierce Yacht Club wish to make in Cuban and surrounding waters, including the necessary coordination with the Cuban port authorities and marinas.
Fifth: Both yacht clubs shall consider the members who visit the headquarters of the other as special guests, upon presentation of their current membership card.
Sixth: This agreement will go into effect the day both parties sign it, and it will be considered for life unless on the signatories or the current Commodore of either yacht club informs the other about its termination.
