Jammin' Jensen
Every Thursday evening from 6-9pm there is a "happening" in Downtown Jensen Beach on Jensen Beach Boulevard. Local artists display their works, jewelry is laid out, chainsaw sculptures are available, there are hats, clothing, household goodies, soaps, candles, and many more choices for you to select. While you peruse the offerings, bands are playing and the lines for the local restaurants are long. (Try CrawDaddy's (New Orleans style) or Mulligans). Don't forget to end the evening with an ice cream from Jan's or Baskin Robbins at Dunkin' Donuts.

Other places to eat would be Peter's Steak House, 11 Maple Street, Kona Cafe.

Jensen Beach is a small Florida town and Jammin' Jensen gives that "old Florida" feeling.

There are many regulars, but the "snow birds" really enjoy the fun and entertainment, too.

The weekly "Jammin " makes Jensen Beach a fun spot. Kids young and old love it. Try it some Thursday night.

THE BARN THEATRE PRESENTS: NEIL SIMONS TONY AWARD WINNING; PLAZA SUITE

Martin County
Date: Thursday January 17, 2019 through Sunday February 3, 2019.
Time: 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Location: The Barn Theatre
Address: 2400 SE Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL
Price: $30
Category: Theatre / Dance
Hilarity abounds in this portrait of three couples successively occupying a suite at the Plaza. A suburban couple take the suite while their house is being painted and it turns out to be the one in which they honeymooned 23 (or was it 24?) years before and was yesterday the anniversary, or is it today?
This wry tale of marriage in tatters is followed by the exploits of a Hollywood producer who, after three marriages, is looking for fresh fields. He calls a childhood sweetheart, now a suburban housewife, for a little sexual diversion. Over the years she has idolized him from afar and is now more than the match he bargained for.
The last couple is a mother and father fighting about the best way to get their daughter out of the bathroom and down to the ballroom where guests await her or as Mother yells, "I want you to come out of that bathroom and get married!"
Thursday through Saturday, January 17th through February 2nd, 2019 at 8:00 PM, and Sundays, January 20, January 27, and February 3rd, 2019 at 2:00 PM The Barn will add Saturday matinees as needed. Be sure to join us on opening night for a pre-show wine and cheese party.
For tickets, call 772-287-4884 or visit The Barns website; www.barn-theatre.com. Call the box office for group and student discounts. The Barn Theatre is a non-profit 501(c)3 community theater. Your donations may be tax deductible.

Arbor Day at The Gardens 01.18.19

The Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens will celebrate Florida Arbor Day at 11a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019.

Arbor Day in the United States holds a long tradition and place in the hearts of many citizens, remembering the Arbor Day celebrations of their youth and school years. Because of its subtropical growing climate, Florida celebrates a different Arbor Day date than that of the majority of northern states; the third Friday of each January is officially Florida Arbor Day.

The ceremony will begin with a prayer, followed by greetings, a recitation of our Arbor Day poem, and the reading of names in memory of loved ones. A tree will then be planted in The Gardens identified with a plaque commemorating its year of planting. Memorials will be listed in the Book of Remembrance displayed in The Gardens Pavilion. A minimum donation of $25.00 is requested for each memorial inscription and recognition.

To make a donation send a check to the Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, 2410 SE Westmoreland Blvd, Port St, Lucie, FL 34952. Please be specific as to your desired memorial for inclusion in the Book of Remembrance.

For further information on The Gardens, Arbor Day celebration, membership or volunteer opportunities, call 772.337.1959. Friends of the PSLBG is a 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax deductible.

The public is invited to attend our Arbor Day ceremony & tree planting.

Journey to Handstand

Journey to Handstand Indian River County
Date: Saturday January 19, 2019
Time: 1:00 pm
Location: Level Yoga
Address: 29 Royal Palm Pointe, Vero Beach, Florida 32960
Category: Other
Have you made the decision that YOU are never going to do a handstand? That you can’t, don’t know how, just aren’t built for it?
Do you look at other people who try them, or who seem to have “mastered” them, and put yourself in a completely different category?

Is a handstand something that intrigues you? Or could you care less?

Do you think to yourself, “I am not strong enough, young enough, athletic enough?”

Well guess what??? This workshop is for you!

Get ready to explore this posture in a way like never before. This workshop is more than just a posture workshop. This is an opportunity for us to learn from this idealized posture in a way that will help us grow our entire practice, as well as ourselves.

As we begin to explore what bubbles up to the surface when we think about, or attempt, a handstand, we will start applying radical self-love principles to the process of learning how to stand on our hands. This is where it gets fun and interesting!

Yoga means union. The postures show us all the places within ourselves where there is discord and judgment. This helps us to realign things so that they express our highest nature. And when we are coming from our highest nature, it’s amazing what is possible.

Come play with us. Explore your body with us. Learn more about what’s required to do a handstand. And, learn more about yourself, your strengths, and just how capable you really are! You can expect to re-enter the world feeling more ease, more flow, and more inspiration.

Full Moon Night Hike at Donald B. Moore Heritage Preserve (formerly St. Lucie Village Preserve). Moonlight, critters, and woods, oh my. We're looking for and listening to wildlife at dusk as day transitions to night. The "changing of the guard" from daytime to nighttime brings a host of changes to the preserves, in terms of which creatures are active and gives us extraordinary moonlit viewing opportunities.

THE BARN THEATRE PRESENTS: NEIL SIMONS TONY AWARD WINNING; PLAZA SUITE

Martin County
Date: Thursday January 17, 2019 through Sunday February 3, 2019.
Time: 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Location: The Barn Theatre
Address: 2400 SE Ocean Blvd., Stuart, FL
