Discover the native side of St. Lucie County with free guided hikes offered by St. Lucie County’s Environmental Resources Department. These free, guided hikes give residents and tourists the opportunity to explore the more than 10,000 acres of preserves that St. Lucie County offers.

Engaging Ecology Hike at Ancient Oaks Preserve. Discover the fragile balance in nature as we walk between two different ecosystems and experience the differences between the plants and animals that utilize both.

Discover the native side of St. Lucie County with free guided hikes offered by St. Lucie County’s Environmental Resources Department. These free, guided hikes give residents and tourists the opportunity to explore the more than 10,000 acres of preserves that St. Lucie County offers.

Kayaking Excursion to White City Park at Richard E. Becker Preserve. Come with us as we paddle even further down beautiful 10-Mile Creek towards the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. During this four-hour paddle, we'll travel past numerous parks and preserves, including Miller Tract, Sweetwater Hammock and Platt's Creek, as we head to White City Park. This trip is appropriate for ages 14 and older. Kayaks, paddles and U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices are provided (you may also provide your own equipment if desired). The cost is $10 per person. No online registration, please call 772-462-2526 to reserve your space. Reservation are a must.

Florida Formation Hike at Gordy Road Recreation Area. Start from the bottom up. The natural history of Florida begins with its formation. Discover how this state was born underwater. Well look for rocks and examine the soil as we discover the natural past in one of Floridas earliest ecosystems. Participants will traverse a steep slope into the floodplain.

Full Moon Night Hike at Donald B. Moore Heritage Preserve (formerly St. Lucie Village Preserve). Moonlight, critters, and woods, oh my. We're looking for and listening to wildlife at dusk as day transitions to night. The "changing of the guard" from daytime to nighttime brings a host of changes to the preserves, in terms of which creatures are active and gives us extraordinary moonlit viewing opportunities.

Be a part of history! Come join us in beautiful Fort Pierce for the 3rd Annual Half Marathon and 5K. Run, jog, or walk this incredible course designed specifically to take in the historical and photographic characteristics of Fort Pierce.

Starting in old Downtown Fort Pierce, the course passes waterside parks and sites dating to the late 19th century before traveling up and over South Bridge down to the jetty. Run along the beautiful shoreline observing many local establishments that make Fort Pierce what it is today. A picturesque finish back in the heart of Fort Pierce gives way to a celebration for all finishers, volunteers, and spectators including food, music, prizes, and mimosas!!!

We look forward to seeing you, all the while raising money for local charities, including The St. Lucie West & Fort Pierce Lions Club, The HANDS Clinic of St. Lucie County, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Committee and Mustard Seed Ministries.

The start and finish line are in Downtown Fort Pierce, on Melody Lane in front of the Susan Broom Kilmer Branch Library at 101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce, FL 34950.
