The Susan Broom Kilmer Branch Library’s ArtSpace hosts works by Florida native Alice Jones May 1-31.
Jones was born and lived in Sanderson until 1947 when her family relocated to Pompano Beach. In 1970, she ventured into real estate, where she managed rental properties for 25 years. In 1994 during hard times, she was gifted with the ability to paint beautiful images. After numerous projects, Jones developed a love and desire for painting.
“Painting quickly became a joyful urge to give each brushstroke a meaningful quality that will touch the hearts of many through unspoken beauty that each soul was meant to feel,” explained Jones.
Residents interested in displaying their artwork as part of the Kilmer Library’s non-commercial ArtSpace area should contact Librarian Delphine Newton at 772-462-2787 or newtond@stlucieco.org. This is not a commercial venue. Artwork is displayed for enjoyment purposes only.
