Kristie Ford had a heart attack on the job on 05/07/2018 with 100% blockage and, therefore, had to miss many weeks of work and pay. And if that wasn't enough, Lee Ford goes into the Hospital with an infection that put him out of work for 3 weeks. This is what we are truly about at Quarters for a Cause helping people who work hard and have to miss work because of illness. This family truly needs our help. If you would like to make a donation of an item to be raffled or give a cash donation for this family, please contact Janice Pietro at 561-310-3285.

Small Business Saturday Okeechobee

Small Business

Time: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Date: Saturday November 24, 2018
Category: Business Networking
Small Business Saturday is a National Holiday created by American Express back in 2003. It was American Express’s intention to directly compete with Black Friday that is better formatted for Big Box Retailers and Corporations. The goal of the #ShopSmall Campaign is to encourage patrons to begin their Christmas Shopping and buy from local merchants in their hometown! When $100.00 dollars is spent locally on average $68.00 stays within the community to pay salaries, buy groceries, gas, sponsor local events and sports teams etc. But when spent at a franchise only $43.00 goes to help the local economy.

In Okeechobee County the Local Chamber of Commerce hosts an event for any business to join and freely markets the event and those participating to the local community to encourage them to get out and shop! If you are interested in being a merchant for this event we ask that you stop in and fill out a vendor application so that we have all the details on your business to help you market for this exciting day! American Express also has promotional materials for you to decorate and help spread the word with!

Shoppers stay up to date with our merchant list as well as new and constant releases of the deals that will be available to help you find the perfect gift for all on your list, while supporting your community! For more details please visit our website at www.Okeechobeebusiness.com , Facebook pages @OkeeChamber and Small Business Saturday Okeechobee (Event Page), Twitter.com/Okee_Chamber, and on Instagram @cocokeechobee
