If you’ve been on the Treasure Coast since the beginning of this millennium you may’ve heard of Mitch Kloorfain or seen him photographing an event. If not, you’ve almost certain to have seen some of his images that have been published in various print and online media in the St. Lucie, Martin and Indian River Counties.
Mitch started in photography as a teenager and knew this was his path from day one having been published in a daily paper in New York from his very first roll of film. Learning of other avenues of photography such as weddings, portraits, events and more Mitch wasn’t published again for another twenty years until he came to Florida and worked with several magazines and weekly newspapers.
Starting with film and evolving seamlessly to the digital platform, Mitch then followed the art of how to finish what was made in the camera to its final stage in post-production use of Adobe’s intricate Photoshop software. “It’s pretty remarkable how you can add creativity to what you’ve already created in camera.”
“I look to learn something new every time I pick up the camera” he will tell you at his photo workshops or when speaking at career day for the students at the local middle and high schools.
