About Bach's Children Music School
Since 2004, Bach’s Children Music School has been providing high quality education in string instruments to students of The Treasure Coast area. Our faculty, including Rowdy Carlton, Robert Swinton, Joachim Bischof, Peggie O’Neill and Paddy King, are all highly experienced teachers as well as performers.
In addition to private lessons in violin, viola, cello, bass classical and acoustic guitar, piano and voice, we provide study in chamber music, orchestra experience, theory, a monthly opportunity to perform at recital night, and participation in concerts for the community. Last year, our students and faculty performed for the fundraiser held for Molly’s House. Our students have performed often at the Stuart Christmas Parade, the Apollo School in Hobe Sound, the NY Mets baseball game playing the National Anthem, and give two major concerts a year utilizing nearly all of our students.
In summer, we hold two guitar camps and a chamber music camp, in which students play in orchestra and quartets, and take part in composing class and master classes, given by alumni or faculty.
For several years our orchestra has been a preparatory class for the prestigious Treasure Coast Youth Symphony, often providing a large part of their string sections.
Many former students currently attend music schools, including FSU, Stetson University and the prestigious Juilliard School of Music in NY.
Our policy has always been to offer lessons at reasonable rates, and provide full or partial scholarships to any student in need. These scholarships are available through generous donors such as the Women Supporting the Arts Organization, private donations, or are absorbed by BCMS or individual teachers.
