The City of Fort Pierce will be hosting the 2nd Annual Mayor’s State of the City Address on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Sunrise Theatre (117 South 2nd Street). This is a free event opened to the public.

Mayor Linda Hudson will be presenting ‘Fort Pierce: Rich History, Bright Future’ aimed to bring the community together to celebrate our history, highlight our accomplishments, review the city’s current standing, and preview the year ahead.

The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available throughout Downtown Fort Pierce including the city garage between Orange Avenue and Avenue A behind City Hall.

The City of Fort Pierce will be hosting the 2nd Annual Mayor’s State of the City Address on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Sunrise Theatre (117 South 2nd Street).

Mayor Linda Hudson will be presenting ‘Fort Pierce Vision 2020: Promise and Progress’ aimed to bring the community together by celebrating past accomplishments, highlight the City’s vision and preview the exciting year ahead for the beautiful City of Fort Pierce.

“Our Fort Pierce Vision in 2020 is looking forward to a decade of progress and promise,” said Mayor Linda Hudson. “Our accomplishments of the last decade promise to produce meaningful and visible improvement in economic development, tourism, community engagement and pride. We are excited about the prospect of moving forward together to improve the whole city. “

Take part in the largest community cleanup event in the City of Fort Pierce on Saturday, March 7th at the Fort Pierce Recreation Center

Fort Pierce residents and visitors are invited to spend a Saturday morning beautifying the city by
volunteering at the Great American Cleanup on Saturday, March 7th from 8:00 AM to noon.
This annual event, sponsored by the City of Fort Pierce and Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful, is an opportunity
for volunteers to participate in a variety of beautification projects throughout the community.

Participating volunteers will be provided with a free t-shirt, safety supplies and the first 300 volunteers will receive a goody bag. Registration begins at 8:00 AM at Fort Pierce Recreation Center, 903 S 21st St., volunteers will be assigned to a team to tackle various improvement projects. The 2020 project locations include: Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting Melaleuca Dr. / South Beach Hutchinson Island, C.A. Moore Garden cleanup/planting and painting, Indian Hills Recreation Area cleanup, Graffiti Abatement (citywide) and Painting at Jetty Park. Transportation will be provided to and from all project locations.

The cleanup will conclude with a FREE volunteer BBQ and Festival at Fort Pierce Recreation Center (903 S 21st St). Volunteers will enjoy a free grilled lunch and refreshing drinks provided by the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority. The community festival will also feature a bounce house, jumbo slide, activities, raffle prizes and demonstrations.

Students can earn community service hours for scholarships and graduation by participating in the Great American Cleanup.
Groups are also welcome! This is a great event to get your family, business, civic organization, sports team, school, church or organization involved.

Volunteers will pick up their supply kits and take to the streets to pick up litter. Residents, businesses, visitors, families, students, community groups are encouraged to volunteer. This event is approved for community service hours and certificates will be available following the event. The Corridor Cleanups are an excellent opportunity for our community to shine, demonstrate stewardship of our natural resources, and take pride in the community.
