Open to the public, Monday - Sunday from 10:00am - 4:30pm, The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a haven and nature center for Florida Wildlife with family friendly trails through woods and wetlands.
The Sanctuary, under the leadership of David Hitzig, opened over 30 years ago with a primary mission of being a refuge for sick, wounded or orphaned Florida wildlife. Over time, their mission expanded by educating the public about environment issues, nature and wildlife. A non profit organization, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary benefits from the Peter W. Busch Foundation. Together they have created and experience that brings people and nature together, creating community awareness of Florida's natural resources and promoting wildlife and habitat conservation.
This year alone, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary will provide comprehensive and rehabiitative care to over 5,000 wild animal patients, with the goal of returning them back to their natural habitat.
Visiting the Sanctuary is an experience. Offering interactive trail guides, a weekly activity calendar, activities for kids and special events. You will not leave disappointed.
